As part of the UAF College of Community and Rural Development, Tanana Valley Campus prides itself on community-driven education---serving the needs of the students in the greater Fairbanks area and beyond.
We're proud to call Fairbanks our home, and we're also thankful for the support TVC has received in its 30-year history from the residents of Interior Alaska. Our main campus, the Tanana Valley Campus Center, is located in the heart of downtown Fairbanks, making it convenient for community members to access our wide array of educational and training offerings. On the other side of town, we share a state-of-the-art facility, the Hutchison Institute of Technology, with the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District, which runs the four-year Hutchison High School.
Below you will see some examples of TVC's community outreach. From the high schools to the military, the faculty, staff and students are doing everything they can to make Interior Alaska a great place to work, play, and live. After all, that's what being a good neighbor is all about.
Community Advisory Council
TVC seeks input and guidance from a 15-member Community Advisory Council(CAC). Consisting of business and industry leaders representing different segments of the Fairbanks community served by TVC, the CAC meets every two months.
For more information see the COMMUNITY ADVISORY COUNCIL web page.

North Pole Outreach
For several years now, TVC has been offering classes each semester in North Pole at the North Pole High School. The intention of the class is to provide residents of North Pole and the surrounding area to take classes without having to make the drive into town. Classes are offered in the evening so as to meet the needs of those students who have full-time jobs or other commitments that might keep them from taking classes during the day.
If you live in the North Pole vicinity and would like to offer suggestions for future classes, email Toni LaFranchi or call her at 455-2848.
Delta Junction OutreachThe UAF Tanana Valley Campus is excited to be offering courses to the Delta Junction/Fort Greely community. Classes are being held at the Delta Career Advancement Center, a new state of the art facility, conveniently located behind the high school off Nistler Road at 1696 North Clearwater Avenue. The cornerstone of TVC's partnership in Delta is Partners for Progress, which includes TVC, the Delta Greely School District, the Delta Mine Training Center , and Alaska Works Partnership. Partners for Progress is an educational consortium created to deliver education and job training for skilled workforce development and career advancement. This includes partnerships with Teck-Pogo and with the construction industry. One of the Partners’ most exciting ventures has been the establishment of the 9,600 square foot Delta Career Advancement Center (DCAC). Located behind the high school, DCAC houses Delta’s first “smart” classroom for two-way interactive communication, a computer lab and a career library/conference room.
