The Tech Prep program is a partnership between the UAF Tanana Valley Campus and other educational institutions allowing high school students to earn credits toward a certificate and/or degree by completing classes in their high school that have been approved for college credit by UAF/TVC. Tech Prep recognizes high quality courses offered at the high school level and
provides students with the opportunity to receive university credit for specific pre-approved high school classes at a reduced cost. This gives high school students the opportunity to earn high school credit and university credit while taking classes in their own high school
- Get a head start in an occupational endorsement, certificate, or degree program.
- Transfer credits from UAF/TVC to another university or college.
- Apply skills for immediate entry-level employment after high school while attending college.
Grades received in the high school course will be reflected on the student’s university transcript.
Students may request “credit after the fact” for up to three years after completing the course, provided the course was approved at the time of completion. There is no limit to the number of credits a student may receive through Tech Prep and the cost is only $25 per credit. Contact your high school counselor for a current list of approved Tech Prep courses available at your school.
