Online Courses

Can’t find a daytime or evening class to meet your hectic schedule? The Applied Business & Accounting Department offers web-based courses to give you the convenience you need as a working professional. As long as you have access to a computer and the internet, you can complete accredited courses.

You can pursue your college degree while maintaining your career and personal life. The degree and certificate programs are specifically designed for students who have a life outside of college. No babysitter. No commuting or hassle trying to find a parking spot.

Online courses are completely unlike most correspondence courses where you're forced to learn the material
on your own from a text book and send assignments through the mail. Instead, our courses are interactive and
rely on numerous methods of teaching the subject matter, to include:
PowerPoint lectures with audio & graphics
Digitized videos
Discussion board topics to interact with fellow students
Various activities and assignments sent directly to your instructor for feedback
Online quizzes which are immediately graded and posted
Email and audio conferences with the instructor
Numerous web-based resources

All large files are burned on a CD which is sent directly to you. This way, you avoid the hassle of trying to
download huge files off the internet, often causing your computer to freeze up.

REGISTERING FOR ONLINE COURSES
You register for ABUS courses just as you do regular courses. You can follow the registration process detailed online at UAF or in the UAF schedule. Through web or phone registration. If you are a new student, you should contact an advisor (Melissa Brown at ffmcb@uaf.edu) to get started.

FOR COMPUTER GEEKS ALONE?
There's no need to be techno-phobic. These courses are designed for business students with basic
computer skills.
